We are incredibly lucky to have a huge network of paths and tracks around Belper which not only take in beautiful scenery but also a wealth of industrial history.  With the Covid restrictions in 2020 we started to rediscover footpaths close to home and began sharing these with friends and family.  Over time the library has grown and we are adding new routes all the time.

We have enjoyed these routes and hope you do too. Many of our walks take in parts of existing routes such as the excellent range of Amber Valley Routeways, the Midshires Way and the Derwent Valley Trail.

All the walks are on rights of way and are either waymarked or follow obvious paths. A map is not really needed but we do like to have and use the OS Maps App not only to help us be sure where we are but also to help identify distant features. Where navigation is a little more tricky this is noted in the description.

As you enjoy these walks please do respect the countryside and recognise that you are walking on land that is providing an income and employment for others. Please leave nothing but footprints. If you can then please leave the walks a little better by taking a few pieces of litter home with you.
